Pattern Design Guide
On receipt of your payment we will keep in contact with you via email whilst we create you chart. This will allow us to discuss any photo enhancements or changes to your final pattern.
Fabric Count Sizes
For best photo realistic results we create cross stitch patterns at 18 count size. Customers who prefer to stitch on 14 or 16 count fabric can still do so in order to get a larger design. Simply specify your preferred fabric size when placing your order. Patterns can also be created at 28 count size.
For tapestry wool patterns our standard size is 14 count but we can create a pattern in any count or size that you require.
Thread or Floss Colours
We will select the best number of colours required to achieve the optimum result. This can be up to 40 shades for black and white or sepia designs and around 55 for colour patterns. Colours can be increased or decreased where required.
Pattern Sizes
From approximately A4 size (11.68 x 8.26 inches), for standard cross stitch patterns and size A3 (16.54 x 11.69 inches), for tapestries. However we can go much larger if you require it.
Finished sizes will often vary slightly from what you order as we scale your chart so that it is in the right proportions. We will ask you to approve the finished size before we complete your chart.
Printed Chart Format
Matching graphs and colour coded symbol charts are laser printed at 600 DPI black and white on standard A4 size photocopier paper. Patterns are easy to read and do not have to be enlarged by photocopier. This way you will receive a quality chart that is ready for stitching.
Printed charts are attractively packaged and ideal as a gift. Orders can be sent anywhere in the world via intermational airmail. For overseas customers we can even email you a list of required colours so that you can get your threads or cottons together whilst waiting for your chart to arrive in the mail.
Paintings and Artwork
We can also create cross stitch or tapestry patterns from personal paintings or artwork. For a painting larger than A4 size (11.69 x 8.26) inches, we recommend you take it to a copy shop and have it reduced to A4 size that will fit our scanner bed. Then send it to us for conversion.
Cross Stitch and Tapestry Kits
We specialise in creating charts only. Threads, floss or tapestry wools are not included as part of our service.
Our charts are mostly created for needlework enthusiasts who already have their own thread, floss or tapestry wool collections.
